Motor noise issue

I received my new gimbal yesterday and DO (follow) all the important steps. One issue I encounter is that the motor is making a grinding noise even the Gimbal is not moving forward/backward or side to side. It means that the motor is is continuously running. And since the phones microphone is located on the bottom part and near the motor, this will pick up that noise. The video you're showing to us on the demo is edited and have a background music which is covering the motor noise.
If my unit is defective, please send a replacement cause I already missed an important event where i can use this gimbal (daugther's birthday. My next event is thanksgiving with friends from abroad visiting us. A 20 years reunion with friends that I wanted to have a good memories with.

Re: Motor noise issue

1) even the campaign video shows the mountage
2) there are no brakes, for motor off mode (battery on=stabilizing)
3) use external high quality mic(s)
4) sell it on ebay, if unhappy
5) watch a car commercial, they all have edited videos with background music, except formula1
6) yes, it is annoying to see things unexpected happening, that's life

Re: Motor noise issue

Hi akoba,

After performing the 4 required steps in the Usage Notice, under most used pan-follow mode normal usage case shooting video the motor noise will be minimal. http://www.servicenavin.com/proviews3_f … c.php?id=4

Please make sure phone is balanced prior to turning on the gimbal, or gimbal needs more motor power just to hold level and will result in higher noise level.

Re: Motor noise issue

minimal?

If there is no background music, video footage is useless.

Re: Motor noise issue

With that engine noise penetrating into the recording cameras (Galaxy S5) I have exactly the same experience :-(

I can't hear the gimbal because it is distracted by your very loud footsteps.
If the sound of gimbal can bother you, shouldn't you take care of your heavy footsteps first?

Unless you are professional videographer (which in this case, this gimbal isn't for you), don't be over concerned about the gimbal noise, go out and shoot more videos and enjoy the stability that this gimbal offers.
