#1 Re: Product Discussion » Can't pass step 3 - Shaking when trying to set the weight » 2016-12-05 06:30:48

Hi Romeo,
I had the same shaking problem when I tried to pair a new phone with it.

But I managed to resolve it the following way :-
1) Turn off Bluetooth and "Forget" PROVIEW S3 connection in the listed devices connected to your phone's Bluetooth
2) Delete the PROVIEW S3 App
3) Reinstall the Proview S3 App by downloading it again from your Playstore/Appstore
4) Fix your phone to the S3 phone grip holder and hold it upright on a flat surface, making sure it is as horizontal as possible
5) Open the App, turn on S3 and connect the phone with the device (Under "Device" of App)
6) Go to Settings of App and click on Pair with Phone option, Enter the correct Weight of your phone + with/without Balance
7) Hold it upright as the S3 pairs with your phone

Try it and see if it helps for your case.

I can't hear the gimbal because it is distracted by your very loud footsteps.
If the sound of gimbal can bother you, shouldn't you take care of your heavy footsteps first?

Unless you are professional videographer (which in this case, this gimbal isn't for you), don't be over concerned about the gimbal noise, go out and shoot more videos and enjoy the stability that this gimbal offers.

From my use of the Proview S3 this 2 days, I find out some points to note :-

First of all, watch the Quick Start tutorial video carefully again and again and follow the steps to a T. I must have watched it at least 10 times before and after I got my gimbal and followed it to a T and I managed to set up without problem. It helps if you play the video and pause while setting up your Proview for the 1st time.

1) The gimbal is not meant to support violent or sudden wide movement. There is a limit to stabilization, you cannot shake wildly and expect it to work perfectly. You want stable videos, even with gimbal, you should also control your own hands.

2) Holding the handle at 45 degrees to the grip will cause vibration, use the joystick to pan to your desired angle instead of holding it this way to minimize vibration. I believe the vibration from the gimbal is to warn you that it is at the extreme angle.

3) To pair a second phone with the Proview :-
Install the app on the new phone,
Turn on Bluetooth, place the phone onto the grip (make sure it is as balanced as possible) and remove the balance weight if necessary, Open the Proview app,
Turn on the gimbal by pressing button for 3-4 seconds, it is important not to turn on the gimbal before the above steps as it will rock violently (in my case)
In the App's device menu, try to pair the gimbal with the phone (sometimes you may need to pair it via the phone's bluetooth setting menu),
Then go back to Proview app's Settings menu and turn on Pairing Phone,
Enter the correct weight and then
Hold the gimbal upright while it takes a minute or so to pair and balance the phone.
You can turn on Controlling REC on the App's settings menu if you want to use the gimbal's button to start/stop recording on your phone. Click on gimbal button once to turn on recording, double click is to change gimbal's locking mode.

4) This tip is from Proview itself. Removing the tiny rubber stopper near the silver ring of the arm helps to remove some unnecessary vibration as it rubs against the silver ring when it is turning. This stopper is only necessary if you wish to shoot portrait modes with the gimbal.

Will add more points if I find out more over the course of my use in the future.
I hope other users who have had success with their Proview can also chip in with some pointers which I have not mentioned.

lenohtna, there is no need to add the weight of the balance into your phone's weight.
just select "with balance" option on the right side.

I find that shifting the phone a little to the right or left, even by 1mm, makes a lot of difference to the tilting.

Hi
I have a few questions :-

1) how to return to 0 degree mode? is there a quick way to make the gimbal auto return to 0 degree mode?

2) when do we need to use Optional Tuning and what is it for?

3) if we add a new casing to the phone, how do we go back to the menu/screen to amend the weight? Is there a maximum weight that the Proview can accept?

4) must the weight be accurate to the exact gram when keying it in? what will happen if there is a slight variation? i do not know the exact weight of my case.

5) after the phone is slipped into the grip, it may still tilt to one side, but if I use my finger to lightly lift up the heavier side, it will be balanced (like a weighing scale), is it ok to balance it this way? and is it ok that the end of the phone does not sit all the way the side of the gimbal motor, because if it does, it will become too heavy on the weight side.

6) what happens in power saving mode?

7) how often do we need to do sensor calibration?

8) I noticed that you asked some users to remove the rubber stopper use for portrait mode, will removing this rubber thing affect the operation of the gimbal (assuming we do not need to use portrait mode)?
